Try DIY Pedicures At Home: Help On How to Do It

By Betsy Kaaua

Pedicures have been proven, in a number of circles, to be good. In addition to helping your feet feel better, when massage is included, pedicures have been found to lower your stress and pain and raise your circulation. Professional pedicures, though, are not something that most individuals are interested in having. Getting a professional pedicure means having your feet subjected to tools that have been used on a gross amount of other people and you never know if the salon has excellent hygienic standards. The great news is that it is definitely possible to perform a pedicure on yourself. If you are interested to learn how to do your own pedicures, don't stop reading.

The first thing you need to do is use a non-acetone polish remover (acetone is bad for your body) to take off any polish that might still be on your toes. Next clip the toenails (straight across) and use a nail file to soften any rough edges. See to it that you clip the nails using a toenail clipper, not one for fingernails. The curved shape of fingernail clippers can cause toenails to become ingrown and painful.

Try to use a foot bath and soak your feet. Let your feet soak in a tub filled with warm water for at least a few minutes. It is also a great idea to put in things like bath salts, skin softeners or skin soothers to the warm water. This makes your foot bath even more relaxing and is a terrific way to pamper your feet to help them feel better. You can obtain ingredients for your foot bath in just about every store selling bath and body products. There are a few that are expensive but choose the ingredients you like the most.

Smooth down any calluses or rough spots that could be left behind after your foot bath with the use of a pumice stone. While this is all relevant to your discovery, a few items about training services hold more weight than others. Do take a close look at what you need, and then make a determination regarding how much different things apply to you. As you know, there is even more to the story than what is available here. We are saving the best for last, and you will be delighted at what you will find out. We think you will find them highly pertinent to your overall goals, plus there is even more. Avoid using a callus shaver or similar tool. Pumice stones are just fine.

Wash your feet when you're done with the pumice. When you've rinsed the foot soak and any callus dust or dust from the pumice stone, apply some moisturizing lotion. There are plenty of moisturizing lotions created specifically for the feet. Don't just rub in in the lotion, but you can if you are in a rush. Rather, if you can, try to massage in the lotion. Massage has been found to help calm your feet and, by extension, your entire body.

After your feet are clean, callus free and moisturized, the next step is to make them beautiful. This isn't crucial but it can do wonders for your confidence to know that, even if they are enclosed in shoes, your toes are pretty. Push back your cuticles with a cuticle pusher (the trimmers will cut your skin and introduce infections). Apply a good solid layer of nail strengthening polish. And as soon as that has dried, you can use whatever color of nail polish you prefer.

At-home pedicures can be done pretty quickly and are ordinarily more affordable than those that you would get professionally. They're wonderful for your whole body health, so get moving!
