Understanding The Principles Of Hormesis Radiation

By Darcy Henderson

A lot of people have been forewarned about being exposed to high energy-emitting rays, especially those of the ionizing kind, to cause severe damages to one's DNA. However, recently, a new hypothesis claimed that being exposed to hormesis radiation can actually be beneficial to man.

Exposure to ionizing rays can pose a threat to a person's health. Ionized waves are capable of dislodging or removing the electron from the atomic molecule. This process often cause certain complications in a person's DNA since the absence of the electron will cause drastic changes to its make-up.

However, recently, there have been proponents of a hypothesis wherein if a person is subjected tot these ionized rays at the right level, instead of debilitating circumstances that usually accompanies such exposure, the human body can actually gain certain advantage from such exposure.

According to the proponents of hormesis radiation, the principle lies in the idea that when a person is subjected to a low level of ionized rays, instead of harming the body, it helps stimulate a response wherein the repair mechanisms within will be developed to provide it the ability to counter the presence of certain ailments.

The belief is also stated that although exposure to ionized rays is indeed very hazardous, especially in considerable amount, low-level exposure is beneficial. Hence, it allows the human immune system to counter the formation of carcinogenic cells for diseases that are not related to ionized ray exposure.

This is anchored on the belief that if a certain organism is subjected to low dosage of an element that is supposed to be hazardous to his overall well-being, the body will exhibited an opposite response to what it usually does if it is being subjected to the same element at a much higher dose.

Currently, many scientists and experts are still debating on the effectiveness of hormesis radiation and testing and retesting the hypothesis as much as they can since they need to determine the right amount of exposure that a person should be subjected to in order to get the desired results.
